Authorship of Two Chapters of the Zebrafish Book at the Invitation of the International Publisher by Colleagues of Royan Institute

Upon the invitation of the renowned international publisher CRC, two chapters of the book Zebrafish, A Model for Parkinson's Research were authored by researchers from the Non-Communicable Diseases Basic and Population Research Group at Royan Institute.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Office of Royan Institute, in 2023, researchers from the Zebrafish Research Laboratory at Royan Institute were invited to contribute two chapters to the book Zebrafish, A Model for Parkinson's Research. Dr. Yasser Tohmteni, Dr. Mohammad Rezaei, Dr. Fatemeh Delkhoush Kasmaei, and their colleagues wrote these chapters, focusing on general methods for maintaining zebrafish (Danio rerio) and culturing zebrafish cells.

The book, which comprises twenty chapters on zebrafish care, breeding, and the application of this animal model in Parkinson's research, was published in October 2024 by CRC Press, a subsidiary of Taylor & Francis.

The first chapter, Zebrafish Maintenance Methods, discusses the principles of zebrafish care, breeding, and the latest protocols. It covers environmental factors for zebrafish maintenance, nutrition at different life stages, hygiene, disease prevention, laboratory design, and relevant protocols and standards.

The second chapter, Zebrafish Cell Culture, addresses methods for culturing and maintaining various zebrafish cell lines, their applications, and the challenges encountered in this area.
