Press Conference for the 25th Royan International Twin Congress
At the press conference for the 25th Royan International Twin Congress, held on the morning of Tuesday, August 20th, Dr. Abdolhossein Shahverdi, President of the Royan Institute, alongside other esteemed members of the institute, outlined the event’s programs and objectives. Dr. Shahverdi emphasized that the establishment of the Royan Institute and the organization of these congresses are enduring legacies of Dr. Saeed Kazemi Ashtiani. He highlighted the significant progress in science and modern technologies that have substantially decreased mortality from previously incurable diseases, and stressed the critical role of new technologies and artificial intelligence in advancing scientific knowledge.
Dr. Maryam Hafezi, Scientific Secretary of the Reproductive Medicine Congress, provided details on the congress’s agenda, which will focus on topics such as infertility genetics, assisted reproductive technologies, and animal biotechnology. Dr. Leila Taghi-Yar presented the themes of the 20th International Congress on Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine, which will cover stem cells, molecular medicine, and bioengineering. Zahra Ezaabadi then discussed the key topics of the Nursing and Midwifery Seminar, while Dr. Rouhollah Fathi elaborated on the congress’s various competitions and ancillary events.
Concluding the session, Dr. Parvaneh Afsharian announced the recipients of the 6th Dr. Kazemi Prize. The award will be presented to two distinguished researchers: Professor Thomas Braun, recognized for his research on cardiac and skeletal muscle development, and Dr. Nicolas Rivron, acknowledged for his advancements in blastoid development and improvements in reproductive techniques. The awards will be conferred during the congress, which is scheduled to take place from August 28th to 30th.
