Creating a Clean Room Next to the Operating Room for Cell Production According to Royan Institute's Public Relations and International Affairs, on the inaugural day of the 15th International Summer School, Dr. Abdolhossein Shahverdi, President of Royan Institute, addressed advanced technologies in genome editing and DNA utilization. He highlighted that: "Today, alongside operating rooms, clean rooms are being equipped for cell production; therefore, with the new protocols, we can be hopeful for a promising future in the treatment of complex diseases."
Dr. Shahverdi emphasized that this gathering aims to explore current and future research topics, underscoring the importance of research efforts in fields such as tissue engineering, reconstructive medicine, gene therapy, and cell therapy. He expressed hope that these sessions would serve as a source of motivation for medical researchers and young specialists, contributing significantly to the advancement of these fields in the country.
He also highlighted significant achievements made by researchers and specialized teams in the field of genomics and the development of new drugs, noting that these advancements are recognized as a major added value for the country.
Furthermore, Dr. Amir Amiri Yekta, the academic secretary of the 15th Royan International Summer School, stated: "The focus of this session of Royan Summer School revolves around compelling topics with therapeutic perspectives. Throughout this 4-day session, both theoretical and practical aspects of genetic engineering, genome editing, genetic applications, and genome editing in the agricultural industry will be explored. The instructors will present participants with the latest scientific findings in these areas."
